Ben is a serial planner and problem solver who combined these traits with his interest in investing to start a career as a financial advisor. He has never looked back after traversing a varied career with large and small firms, topped off with mentoring new advisers.
His first career was in journalism, which gave him the skills to explain complex concepts in easy-to-understand terms. It’s a valuable skill that allows him to deliver easy-to-understand advice to his clients, particularly in his specialist areas of insurance and KiwiSaver.
Outside of work, Ben is married with two energetic boys. He enjoys the mental and physical challenges he gets from competing in triathlons (swim, cycle and run) and, coming from a sailing family, he has competed in many off-shore races, including Sydney-Hobart and the Fastnet Classic.
